    Hi everyone,

I know that in US if you have a permanent stair/ladder to the attic the electric regulations change. Is it the same here in Ireland?

I wanted to have a ladder installed but wanted to understand if it's worth it.

    Thanks in advance

Permanent access to the loft here in Ireland brings in fire safety regulations such as detection, doors, walls etc

Are you in a 2 storey house or a bungalow.

Also, based on your other posts, you are in an apartment which means you may need management by approval and may require a fire safety certificate from the local authority.

    Hi kceire,

actually I'm in a normal apartment. My friend has a duplex with the attic and I always post like it was me :)

Your answer is more than enough to make him change his mind!

Do you have a link to official code where I can find what you said?

    Thanks

Hi, would you consider a folding ladder like a permanent one?

Post a picture of what you mean but if it’s a Styra style then it should be fine.
