Anyone familiar with the 7530 tractors?

I went too look at one earlier today, couple of issues that I am not familiar with and was wondering if any of the JD heads would be able to throw an opinion or two.

Looked at it on a farm and the workman said they were putting water/coolant into her on a regular basis, so I assumed the head was on it's last legs and the bonnet had some black on it too (see photo), now the exhaust is damaged at the top so did think it could have just been rain after getting down in it as once she was started she blew that out (this is the case with the TW15 that was here lately).

Salesman said later when I called that the Head was done just 300 hrs ago.

Also there was a oil leak under her near the rear, dirty enough looking and worker said she came washed so that's built up in the last few weeks but that she does leave puddles around where as his boss said it was probably just overfull!!!

and finally the cross shaft is shagged, are they expensive ?

    Thanks

The adding water after the head gasket being done would set alarm bells going straight away. 7530's in general don't have a good name for reliability engine wise. Do your home work and get her working hard to see where the temperature gauge travels to under load.

Back end is the same way,get the oil hot and see how it is pumping. They have a reputation of taking out the hydraulic pump from chaff from the brake liners. The joys of having the same oil for gearbox and hydraulics. Find the source of that oil leak as it could be wallet hurting.

Tyres are well down on that girl, budget for them or keep looking around for ones with nearly new tyres.

Between the white smoke and using coolant I'd be nervous of the head gasket. Drove a 7530 a lot that had engine work done and it only needed one top up over 3 months.

Also with the oil leaks you'd want to make sure that fillings aren't in the hydraulics. If it has had the egr delete it should run cooler.

Id steer clear of that tractor tbh op. Could end up being a very expensive purchase with tryes and headgasket etc

Cheers for the replies, much appreciated. I guess that's why she is priced to sell and like was said if things begin to go wrong she becomes an expensive bit of kit to have around.
