Hey there, so I have an ungodly fear of the dentist.... the fear has been in me since childhood when I had to get a tooth pulled and it would come out.... he kept pulling, holding my head down! It was like he was trying to pull out a rusty nail! I remember it as clear as day! This incident has had an everlasting effect!

Forward to today, had to return to the dentist due to breaking my front tooth! Obviously this wasn’t something I could just walk around with as I would never leave the house! Anywaysgot that sorted, but I know I have other problems from the years of ignorance! We were never made brush our teeth(biggest regret for me as the bad habit stool)but now I still can’t bring myself to go.... I wanna go before it’s too late and all my feet are gone... I’m only 27. Only nightmare I have is me waking up in a pool of sweat thinking all my teeth are gone/rotten!anyone have any idea how I can get over this? Is there any dentists that actually specialise in deal with extreme phobia?

I had a very similar experience to you. Had 6 teeth out under anasthetic when I was in Senior Infants and 4 teeth out in 5th Class (one was pulled-horrific & the other 3 under anasthetic). My older and younger brother added to the experience with horror stories! Fast forward 25 years to a return visit. I wish I had gone earlier-the experience is MUCH improved. It’s funny, I’m a Primary teacher and the kids go and come back from the dentist skipping!
