They’re hovering over the apartments here for the last hour. It’s ridiculously loud. I’m surprised it hasn’t ran out of petrol

It wont run out of petrol. They run on Kerosene. That is why they are called paraffin budgies.

Is that unusual? It's over my place most nights of the week. Spent an hour overhead last night after midnight. No reports of any incidents. I can hear it in the distance now but I'm nowhere near Tyrellstown.

Or a Hereon. I know DFB/Garda do great work but they should post more about what is happening to us not RSPCA rescues.

It’s namename is squirrel. Or, at least it was till 2008. A Eurocopter Squirrel, to be pedantically precise. Well, to be even more pedantically precise, a Eurocopter (Airbus) AS350 Écureuil.

Get used to it OP. With all the drug dealing, mma fighting, joy riding, murdering zombie thugs running around Dublin, it's going to be a regular occurence.

It was over my house a few months ago, I couldn't believe how loud it was. I've seen harriers and F16s etc at Baldonal airshow but this helicopter was just as loud, was so low it was shaking my house.

Your probably living beside the helipad..... maybe.

It’s rarely hovering above Tyrrelstown tbh.
Although Used to be around every 2nd week where I used to live.

Does joyriding still go on in Dublin? I thought moden security features on vehicles made it very difficult to rob a car without the keys?

They hijack pedestrians and run them around at terrifying leg speeds.
    It's called "git surfing".
All too often, the "git" is one of their own mothers
