€15K, 2012+, 5 door, high spec recommendations please!

Howdy folks,

Looking for something stylish enough and high spec (leather, wheel controls, alloys) to upgrade to.

• €15,000 budget
• Needs to be 5 door as planning on having a nipper in the not too distant future
• Not too old 2012+ ideally
• Diesel preferably, lower tax and better economy etc.

Quite liking the A5 sportsback but most of them here are 143hp not too may 177hp models about (plenty up north but push over the 15k budget with VRT)

A 420D I think will be out of budget but are a lovely car too!

Any thoughts on similar?

OP was looking at BMW 420d GC and A5 SP though unless your talking about the boot hatch?

Only pegged what you were talking about after I typed the response.

Access to the boot of the CC is fairly decent, not as practical as a hatch but I'd try one first before totally ruling it out.

The 5 door thing limits options a good bit - so were it to be removed from the criteria there would be loads of choice!
There is a lot to be said for having a hatchback (or coupe as they’re apparently called now?) though.

You'd be into 5 series and a6 territory at that money. As well as even newer stuff like Passat, superb etc...
Either go newer or keep plenty of your budget if you stay away from the premium brands

I'm guessing the OP means 4 door coupe with a hatchback boot opening for a buggy which the likes of the 4 Series Gran Coupe and A5 Sportback have.

We have a 420d GC with a baby seat in the family and while the boot is huge for a buggy etc putting a child into a seat in the back is awful and I mean AWFUL. Don't do it yourself.

Just brought one in myself. Very impressed with it never had a Volvo before had BMW's previously. Has all the bells and whistles drives great superb mpg. And they aren't all over the roads.
