Leasing land without agent

We’ve 50 acres leased out to a neighbour on a 5-year lease, and it finishes at the end of this year.

He’ll more than likely take it again and once the money is agreed, we’ll give it to him. No problem there.

The issue is with the estate agent who drew up the agreement back in 2014. She has left me down badly on a related matter and I’m finishing up with her services. What I’m wondering now is if it’s possible to draw up a lease (based on current one or IFA master lease) for the next 5 years, without using an agent.

Is anyone on here involved in such a direct arrangement?

Just copy old lease agreement, change dates. I think you need to send it to stamp office to stamp it. IFA and Teagasc have generic leasing agreements as well neither should be an issue. IFA or Teagasc may guide you through it if farmers is a member of either

Thanks for that. For my sins, I’m a member of the IFA so I might give them a shout. Get something for my subscription!
