    Just a quick question ,
How much do people normally spend on Token engagement  rings ?
Obviously not totally loaded, just a token one and then after the proposal let herself pick the real one
    I

Whatever you feel. My friend was given a jelly ring and the packet to eat. I was given one but it was too big and we were away at the time so we bought a ring in a brow bar for €5, I love that ring.

Another friend got a swarovski ring and wore it for months until decided on a permanent one. If it is good enough you're then possibly under no pressure to get a ring straight away, as they are intimidating to shop for.

I got a token wedding ring as mine wasn't finished in time.

Think it cost 6 quid at the time.

It's a token, anything you spend on it you can't spend on the actual thing.

    Don't panic!

We were completely overwhelmed when we started shopping. Went in as a complete novice to it all. Take your time. I turned into an introvert as didn't know how to approach the assistance and ask questions as it was such a new experience.

We went with a lovely lady who was very honest about what suited and what didn't. I have tiny fingers so everything I tried on it was really hard to judge what it would look like re-sized but she provided cotton balls to make it fit and look better.

All the very best then with the proposal.

I spent €50 on a token ring. I wanted it to be semi-decent - not just a toy. I don't think it would have mattered either way. That was my personal preference.

The lady in the shop where I bought told me not to buy a token ring with such a big stone in it - it would just lead to disappointment. I ignored that advice.

If I was doing it again I'd spend €5 on a ring 10 times the size :p

What I can say is, that ring - no matter how much it may have cost - has some lovely memories attached to it.

My fiancé proposed with a pandora ring. I wore it on my right ring finger when I got my engagement ring. Unfortunately for some reason after about 6 months the ring caused a rash on my finger and I needed a steroid cream to fix it! I tried to wear it again when my finger healed up but it happened again. So it’s sitting in my jewellery box now, but I do still treasure it!

I got a token for my wife but wanted something half decent looking and couldn't find anything half decent looking for a fiver here.

So ordered one from the states cost about 25 euro. Which is tiny money tbh for something that looks decent.

Ordered from here . She still wears the token today when other is getting cleaned

Just don't get a huge fake diamond on it! A girl I worked with was given a token ring as he didn't want to travel with the real one. It had a huge fake diamond on it, from River Island I think. She said of course she was delighted he proposed but she was gutted when she realised her real ring had a way smaller rock!

My husband proposed with a cubic zirconia silver solitaire ring.. I wouldn't even say it cost him 50euro! First thing he said to me was "now don't be expecting a diamond that big, I'm not loaded!" haha
