Private van insurance

    Any one Know if any Insurance Company will Insure a Small Van for
    Social & Domestic use, or is it a no go area

    Yes, I have mine inured social and domestic and commercial with liberty

    The key thing there is you have commercial use as well. I don't think there are any companies insuring vans for social, domestic and pleasure use only as new business

    Problem is the Wife has Retired from work (Health Issues)
    She is Driving a Small Van because its easier for to access it because
    of her Problem ( when she was working she was covered because of her work)
    Anyway went and bought a Van (We did not realize because she has retired
    the Insurance would not cover her)
    In Limbo at the moment waiting for the Insurance to get back

    I suppose not impossible but I’m surprised you couldn’t find a suitable car to replace the small van. Most small vans are car derived or there are car derived versions

    It may be worth considering.

    Good Point Brian, its because she uses a Wheelchair at times, the Van is so Handy for her, and also the Access for her so much easier to get into.

    If thats the case you should look into mobility Ireland grants. You may qualify for vat back and free road tax http://www.motabilityireland.com/funding-grants then you could just insure it privately
