Because they are the first people in the history of humanity to have a baby, and we need to hear about it.

    Is it news?

Given that you've followed it up with 5 links to the Indo, I'd say no.
Celeb news on the other hand...

To me Skylar would be suggestive of some US military secret Black Project to do with the weaponisation of space. "we will neither confirm nor deny the existence of any project popularly referred to as "Skylar"":D

Entertainment and style news isn't heavy reading. It sort of comes with the territory. And fashion style has not changed all that much from the mid/late90's, early 00s on. Some of the clothes (from back then) just look baggier. Fashion has run out of ideas.

I know this seems a strange thread, but from reading the papers every day I have noticed that every day there is a a radio presenter or TV presenter posting pictures of their babies, telling us about their life with the new baby or that they are now pregnant.

I'm all for people popping them out but is this a bit much?

Is it necessary? Is it news?

    Where will it end?
Considering all the links are from the same source I think your problem might not be 'celebrities'.

"It just felt like, it's hard enough to be a woman without having to put up with this s**t too," she told Irish Tatler

Ya I couldn't bring myself to check anywhere else in fairness.

I find it strange in a way that these people give a story to the newspapers in the first place, surely its a private family affair?

How many times has Kathryn Thomas been in the papers in the last few days ****eing on about her new baby. Just raise the child and take the time off.

It's not so much I have a problem with women or celebrities having babies and I used just one paper to really highlight the amount in that paper alone. Or is it purely that paper?

I don't know. I read IT and The Times daily and I didn't even have a clue Louise Duffy is married to Paul Galvin. I knew Vogue is pregnant but that's about it.

I suppose they're excited new mothers, and pictures of cute babies sell magazines.
But you rarely see genuine stars doing this. It's usually minor celebs who like to be photographed on the front of Hello, VIP etc with their children. The real deal celebs often don't even reveal the baby's name, because they keep their professional and private lives separate.

Change the channel. I don't get hit by any of that on whatever it is I watch with my kid.

Yeah I was thinking that alright. I know in other countries such as Spain, papers and magazines have to block out the child's face in articles. I think you hit the nail on the head with the minor celebs though.

Unfortunately a lot is down to business reasons.
It'll probably be gold for Kathryn Thomas. Expect her to write a few mothering books and be a celeb Mum for lots of other mum's or mums to be.
There's also a huge line of parent / mum related possible sponsorship and endorsement deals in the wings.

Finally, having a child can make you relatable to a vast audience of other parents, especially if you're on a day time show etc... This is why so many DJs talk about their kids. I doubt they do on SpinFM etc...

Fair point, I'm definitely tuning out if they start snap chatting while pushing the baby out though

What kind of person watches the news in any form? I stopped years ago and am far better off. Editors deciding what you should be outraged about... no thanks.

Yeah it's much better when FB does news editing for you.

I do cringe a bit when radio presenters tell their audiences about their lives.
I'm not interested and find it self-important.

Oh I'm so tired... you don't know what it MEANS to be tired.... I have kids blah blah blah TIRED.

Oh fuck off. I literally could not care less how tired you are because of your stupid self-inflicted children

This is the truth really. People ask me "did you see XYZ happened?! unbelievable isn't it?" Then next week something else, then on and on and.....

Always funny when you bring up old news with people like what's happening there and they wouldn't have a notion. I mean I don't either but it just vindicates my viewpoint that things happen all over the world and don't stop happening because the news decided not to report it.

All just seems a bit brainwashing people telling you what to care about and us buying into it so we can feel like we're keeping up with current events. Of course those current events are a very select few.

Also the world is not completely F'd the news just knows we're lovers of misery. Ignore most of it and keep up with the important bits every once in a while. You'll be much happier for it.

From what I have noticed the older mothers do alot of talking/promoting

Like Kathryn that probably spent yearly salaries for most people to get pregnant

Saying that normal aged mothers like those 2 Faiers sisters in the UK with the reality show seems to be a popular trend

On Facebook every 2nd post from my friends ranging from 25-35 are baby/children related, my wife is a terror for it too, posting baby pics all the time

    Its trending I suppose

Baby's are this summers latest fashion? I wonder have they readied themselves yet for the difficult teenage years and will we get updates every time the child has a tantrum
