Thinking about getting sky

Thinking about getting sky tv and broadband, just wondering, if I cancel after the 12 months will the dish they now supply with the sky q box still work for fta after the 12 month sub is finished? I remember hearing the lnb used with sky q is different so I'm just curious as to if it will work or not if I end the subscription.

Also I know years ago sky had friends and family discount codes available on various sites. Does anyone know if these are still going and if so could they pm me?

They now fit a 2 output wideband LNB as standard during a SkyQ install, this will not work legacy FTA/Freesat/Sky receivers. This LNB will have to be swapped out if you cancel after 12 months.

If you currently have other legacy satellite receivers running in the house during a SkyQ install there is an option to install a 6 output smart Hybrid LNB which will work with both types of receiver, but they can be reluctant to install these unless you insist, example.

I find it strange that you would be considering a Sky subscription with the apparent intention of dropping it after the initial contract ends.
You will need to purchase an aerial, LNB and STB after the 12 months.

Would you not be better served to get your own equipment fitted now (Sat dish, LNB, aerial & STB) and pay no subscription for the 12 months?
