Getting pharmaceutical job without experience

    Hi All,

I have a degree in science but I struggled to get a job in pharms/medical devices so I ended up getting a job in an unrelated area. I felt so unfulfilled in that job that I decided to take a part time GMP related course via springboard so I could move back in to pharma. I have started applying for pharma jobs again and all I get are responses saying I don't have "relevant experience". Even operator roles require some experience. Can advice on how I can get experience?

    Thanks 😊

    Hi Afurosan,

I am in the same boat, did you manage to pick up any work since?

Try Takeda Bray - they hiring now for production. Don't worry about experience requirements - recently a lot of people started without any pharma experience.

Get your foot in the door somewhere.
Mylan in baldoyle are taking on people aswell. Year or two under your belt and you can go into labs or whatever easily then

You literally have to know someone in there. It's appealing but these are often multi-million Euro international businesses run to sneaky underhanded Irish standards. The tax breaks must be VERY attractive is all I can say.

    Hi,

Sorry for my late reply - I eventually got into a process operator role in Pfizer. They're hiring people again in December/January in Newbridge and Grange Castle is looking process technicians now as well.
