If the Tommy boots in general are still in good nick you can get them resoled for relatively cheap. The cobbler will polish them up for you as well, almost like new! Handy to have knocking around the wardrobe.

Do you wear chinos to work? I love desert boots, Clark’s do the classic ones, about €120. They are suede so you have to look after them, protector spray etc. They are a nice option for spring/summer, especially in a lighter colour. They are great with chinos or jeans, not with suits trousers though.

I find Rockport very comfortable the ones with Adidas soles. Comfy as trainers but look like shoes. Think there called adiprene, not all Rockport have them.

It really depends on what your budget is. I have a number of pairs of Crockett & Jones, and they really are exceptionally good. Pricy, but they are Goodyear welted, so will last many, many years. I would recommend investing in a number of pairs of whichever shoe you decide to go with, as they should never be worn on consecutive days.
Regardless, a cedar shoe tree is an absolute necessity for any pair of shoes.

If you’re walking 2k at lunch I’d actually recommend changing shoes to go and do that. Have your dress shoes in the office for work time and then go for a walk in something a bit sturdier. It won’t reallt be stylish but probably better for your feet.

Perfect I will check them out, have you worn rockport shoes other than the adiprene? I done a quick google they do some nice shoes very reasonably priced, I will have to go to a few shops and try them on.

To be fair, I have to buy a pair of shoes and try them for a week or so before I know if they will suit me, I tend to suffer from back pain and pain in the soles of my feet if they shoes don't suit me, the current shoes I have are perfect in that regard
I also have the same problem when I buy runners but the gait analysis in elverys helps
