Sorry I can't post a link on my phone. You'll just have to copy and paste

But I was shocked to see that there are more dairy cows than beef cows in Leitrim. And the opposite is true in Meath

think you have misread it there bass

there are 2,700 diary cows and 27,700 beef cows in Leitrim

some amount of dairy cows in Cork which as many cows as the entire of Connaught, Ulster and all of Leinster (less KK, Wexford and Laois) all combined.

Basically Cork has nearly as many cows as non Munster combined

Goes to show how cagey the Cavan lads are. Only a difference of 3 cows in a year! :-)

It would be interesting to see how many beef cows per ha each county is running too I'd be very surprised imo if most of the suckler lads are pushing to high a stocking rate

Pretty shocked at those figures in leitrim alright, impression is often given that there is very little farming going on in the county

2700 milking cows is a very small number in one whole county .there would be alot more then 2700 cows in most parishes in north kerry!!! I would love to know the parish with the most cows in ireland surely some place in cork .In kerry Moyvane always has plenty cows but heavy land ,i would think causeway parish would have the most cows in ireland and probably some of the best land as well!!!!
