Isuzu trooper

Anybody have much experience with the 3.1 Isuzu trooper engine?
Have one that’s hard to start, not really running right.
Disconnected each injector while engine running and there’s no change in engine with number 2 injector disconnected. There’s also no oil pumping out of the injector like the other 3 injectors.
Would that lead me to believe that it is the injector faulty? Or could it be the wiring harness itself or what?
    Tia.

There is no wiring to the injectors of a 3.1 trooper. Fully mechanical pump.
Is there diesel coming from the pump at no.2 outlet ? (ie, is the steel pipe up to the injector clear?)
If so, you need to remove the pump and get it overhauled.
You will be removing the timing cover to do this, change the timing belt while you are at it.

Look at the Isuzu Trooper Owners Club website in the UK, and also their Facebook page.

PS. Have you removed the injector? How do you know that no diesel is coming out of it, or are you talking about loosening the pipe at the injector?

    Sorry it’s 3.0D not 3.1, my mistake!

    Oh fuçk .......

You need someone with the genuine Isuzu diagnostics. Nothing else will do.

Although the fact that it actually starts and runs is a great bonus.
Could be a faulty injector, but you do need the Isuzu Tech2 tool to code the replacement to the ECU.

Are you running fully synthetic engine oil?
Changing it and the filter every 4000 miles?
Changing the secondary oil filter every second oil change?
Injector wiring looms break down, check for oil leaking out at the multi pin connector at the back of the engine.

Has it had all the recalls?
Will your Isuzu dealer answer the phone to you, when he hears what engine you have? :(

If you have the Isuzu Diagnostics tool, you can do a click test on the injector. 5 loud clicks would mean that the electronic part of the injector is good, when an injector is not working no engine oil will squirt out because either the electronic part of the injector is broken or there is an issue with the wiring loom.

If you replace the injector it should ideally be coded into the ecu as they are graded.

If your keeping it, its probably worth doing the injector sleeve seals on all the injectors and sleeves themselves, if they have not been done in the last 60,000 km. Very common cause of diesel in the water.
