Moving into the Pharma Industry

I have been trying to change career to move into Pharma without much success.

Have completed one Pharma-related course (part-time) and am in the process of completing another.

I am coming from an industry about as far removed from Pharmaceuticals as it gets, but there are some correlations between them too.

I am looking to just get in to a Pfizer-type place at entry level but I just haven't had any luck.

Although there appears to be oceans of work available in this booming industry, I guess there is also a massive amount of people looking for those jobs.

Can anyone tell me, what is it the industry is looking for? Any advice greatly appreciated!

Really just the industrial end. Nothing fancy at all - have been applying for Process Tech, QC jobs and the like.

Forget about Pfizer without any pharma experience. For QC position you'll need at least relevant degree. Your best bet - places like Takeda in Bray. They not paying decent wages, but they will hire you without any previous experience. This is how you'll get at least 1 year experience and be able to apply to Pfizer.

But most likely they will hire people with at least some bio pharma experience. It means Pfizer will lose even more people. On top of that - Takeda buying Shire for 51 billion....
