    Hi,

We have a stovax inset stove being fitted into a stud wall (external air supply). Our fitter came out Sunday and is adamant the way it was built isn't ok- builder used normal wood stud but he did use pink plasterboards which are heat resistant and I presume regular skim. Fitter says it should be a metal stud with a1 fire proof boards and heat resistant skim. He's refusing to fit it and says it needs to be redone. Our builder- who in fairness we can't fault to date- is adamant the pink board is standard for this type of stove installation and that our stove fitter is scare mongering. I've gone through the manual and while I can see it stating fire resistant plaster I don't see anything mentioned about stud walls or A1 boards- it seems to just cover regular masonry installation.

Is our builder correct? Our fitter is from and based in NI- maybe they have different regulations up north?
