Is a degree in the Early Years sector worth anything when looking for a creche job?

With one year's experience and fully qualified, up to and including a Level 8, is an early years based degree worth anything in employer's eyes?

Would it be more advisable to just get a basic F.E.T.A.C. Level 5 and some experience working in a crèche?

A level 7 (or above) qualificaton entitles your employer to a significantly higher rate under the ECCE scheme so you're absolutely worth more to an employer if you have one.
