Jump starters

    Hi all,

Interested in buying a high powered mini jump starter. You know, the multi use power bank ones.
Have a car that's sat all winter. Started off jump leads, eventually, but stalled when I went to move it (maybe stuck brakes) and dammit but wasn't one of the windows half-down (pillarless coupÃ႒©) so that entailed more messing.
Anyway, went to buy the goodies on Amazon but it wouldn't deliver to NI. I was about to use Parcelmotel.

Anyone know where to buy good value, all the options jump starters in Ireland or what courier /parcel service to use to bring in battery related stuff like this? Is there a UK mainland Parcelmotel option or something similar from another service?
I won't need an inverter as I already have one. But am open to a bulkier old style unit IF its good value with options.

    Any tips?

You should remove the battery and trickle charge it.

You will murder the battery life jump starting a sat battery.

Wait for Aldi or lidl to bring them in.
I see them from time to time.
I've an old Aldi one with a compressor, light and USB ports.
3 years old and still works perfect.

I bought this one in Halfords last year and it has never let me down even on icy mornings.

I saw Lidl are selling their ones this week too but they felt very flimsy if I’m honest. Might be worth a shot though.

Lidl have a 14000mA battery pack and compressor (for tyres) for €70 at the moment.
I’m still waiting for my Gooloo G2000 to arrive from Indigogo (€120), 28800mA, due any day now.

No problems shipping to NI and fingers crossed no problem with Parcel Motel either. Amazon had an issue unfortunately. But great for pre-buying :D Thanks Amazon.

    Folks,

get yourself a device like this.

Holy crap. Needed to charge it for an hour after I unpacked it. To get it up to 100%.

Connected it up, car jumped into life! I mean jumped!! Like a new car and new battery.

Battery was bought in Dec 2014 on a 5 year guarantee through Halfords (Yuasa), so if it fails to hold its charge, I'll get a new one.

One serious little device though. 18,000 maH. Showing 100% still after that first start.
