    https://m.independent.ie/life/family/mothers-babies/be-kind-be-strong-speak-up-and-speak-out-kathryn-thomas-has-sage-advice-for-sixweek-old-daughter-ellie-36876177.html

Now I’m not saying the person isn’t a good person, or that the message isn’t admirable but what the fcuk is this all about:

“May all your dreams come true. So dream big little lady, get lost in a world of adventure, explore far and wide, laugh a lot and out loud and at yourself. Be kind, be strong, speak up and speak out, take risks, ask questions, love with all your heart, be loyal, be happy, eat cheese, lots of cheese and always dance like nobody’s watching."

Is this really written to/for her baby (who can’t actually read or comprehend it) or is it written to massage her own ego and to attract hollow compliments from her followers? I’m anti social media for this exact reason and just cannot come to a logical conclusion as to why people make seemingly random, even private, thoughts in such a public forum. Can someone (genuinely) enlighten me as to why people do this? To me it’s just superficial and self-indulgent. If it were really meant as life advice, couldn’t she write it down in private or demonstrate the sentiment through actual parenting skills?

I must be getting old.....(yet I’m younger than KT)

The Indo seems to be turning into Hello! or OK! a little bit more every week.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

These TV people are always worried about their career and the next step and how to fill some slot.
I wouldn't be surprised if she is attempting to go down a road that worked out for someone else in her position.
If I was her I'd look at all the US states and all euro countries to find something close to her equivalent. Then copy that.
