    Hi lads..

Having an intermittent issue with my landcruiser at the moment. For want of a better word I feel like I've little to no boost from the turbo and its dead as a dog.. yet some days I sit in turn the key and shes all the power you want from 1400 rpm on to 2600 easy..

    220kms.
    Oil changed every 15k.
    Gauze is clean.
    Injectors were done.
    Always ran on dipetane.

Literally its a lotto when I turn the key. I thought it might be if the calipers are dragging (fronts badly seized and new ones on the way) but she doesn't seem to have hot discs like you'd associate with that issue. Shes struggling to go from 80 to 100 where as other days she'd do it in a matter of seconds..

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    'Hdz

When I had my 04 I found that it would run like that when I used spurious fuel filters.
Went back to using toyota filters and no probs afterwards.

Have you had the turbo checked? We have seen turbo issues with power on Land Cruisers, albeit on the later models. Also the pumps on the earlier Land Cruisers (your one should have the red and green suction control valves) can cause this with age.

Funny enough I changed it out about 4 weeks back. I had a mann one in there and swapped it out with a blue print as it was all they had. I'll get a Toyota one and go from there.

I had an inkling that it was the maf too it is subjected to a lot of dust and lime being a quarry vehicle.

We'll see how I get on with that and go from there.

    Cheers!!

Scv's on the pump would be my bet.. especially if the problem is intermittent. It's a relatively known problem that is not a mad expensive fix. Sounds like you're getting a restricted fuel flow.
