This morning my other half was heading into town from Finglas, she was sitting downstairs at the back of the bus.

On St Helenas road at the cloonlara stop a male and female got on the bus (two roma gypsys) one sat beside her and in front of her.

My OH feeling unfomfortable got up to move seats and had she done so the male bumped off her and somehow ended up with her purse in his hand, lucky enough she copped on and was able to retrieve her purse from the male.

Bus driver was helpful and called the Gardai but the two males opened the doors and ran off in the direction of 'the stretch' towards broombridge.

For any locals please tell your wives , girlfriends sisters or mothers to be extremly vigilant while using the 40 as this is not first time its happned on the route.

Anyone with any information plese PM me.

    Thank you.

There are cameras all over the passenger areas of a Dublin Bus.
If you contact Dublin Bus and explain to them what happened I'm
sure that they would forward the relevant footage on to the Gardaí.
That's the last thing DB need to be happening on their services!!

Give them the route and the time of the incident!

Thanks, Dublin Bus are aware of the situation and a statement has been given to the guards, cctv should be decent enough on the bus but im not expecting much to come out of it. Thankfully she got her purse back. But shes a bit shaken after it.

Pure scumbags the way they done it. Intimidation tactics.

Scum-sucking leeches probably have free travel passes. Anyone identified engaging in such behaviour should have their pass revoked.

it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out that this was deemed unconstitutional and zero action was taken

You should only have to go to the Gardai if you have an incident on a bus at the end of the day it's the Guards role to investigate in this country not DB's or the victims. Gardai should be going to DB to request CCTV not the victim. If your purse was robbed on the street you'd go to the Gardai not the Gardai and/or the council or commercial premises to search for CCTV evidence.

Common place in many European countries. Most major cities in Europe which have a Metro have problems with Roma gypsies begging on public transport and on the street I have experienced it in London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome and Milan
