Learner Permit is more than 3 months out of date

On the NDLS website, it states that "You can apply to renew your licence up to three months before it expires at any NDLS centre in the country."

Mine expired in August of last year. I've tried to renew it but the website doesn't seem to be recognizing the driver number.

Does this mean I cannot renew my learner permit?

    Thanks for any help!

You'll probably need to go to a NLDS centre with proof of booking a test / attempting it to get it renewed since that's a requirement for renewal.

It’s only my first renewal though!

Is there a requirement that I have to renew it within a certain length of time or it can’t be renewed?

    I’m quite confused!

Learner permits can be renewed within 5 years of the expiry date.

Online service might be reserved for in date renewals perhaps?

Possibly! In that case, should I just register an appointment through my PPS number and hope they accept my renewal application?

You'll definitely be able to renew so don't sweat it !

As you said just make an appointment and read the website to see what paperwork you'll need to bring with you.

Best of luck with the driving

For some reason the NDLS website just doesn’t recognise my driver number..very strange!

You sure you're using the driver no: and not the serial no: of the permit itself

I’m using the number beside 4d on the learner permit and I’ve checked online to make sure it’s the correct one, so I don’t think that’s the problem!

Thank you all for your help so far though.

Are you using the 9 digit number in field 4d?

    EDIT: Question answered!

When I was applying for my full license the NDLS website didn't recognise my driver no. either, just use your PPS and it should work fine :)
