Trying to give up cigarettes at the moment and finding it very hard.

I was just wondering what fellow boardsies thoughts would be on replacing tobacco smokes with marijuana ones?

Obviously I'm talking about doing this in a place that marijuana is legal.

Quitting the smokes with weed wouldn't work.. You'll still crave nicotine.

Girlfriend and I quit smoking with vapes. She has quit even that now.

Would you consider buying a used Ford Focus?

If going the vape route. Don’t buy one of those silly vape pens. Start with a vaperesso stick or Smok V8 baby. 24mg (some places still sell it) then drop down to 18mg, 16, 12, 6, 0-3mg.

I was a 20-40+ a day smoker if I was on the beer, and I started on 6mg and it was fine.. I don't think it's necessary to start higher than that.

My understanding from society today is that cigarettes are evil and marijuana is the savior of mankind (personkind?)

You'll end up quitting the smokes alright, but upping your marijuana intake. "I'm off the cigs, only on 8 joints a day hey!" - That type of thing.

Have you tried a vape pen/E-cig yet? That has helped many people I know quit the smokes.

I'm trying to give up chocolate, do you reckon upping my pork chop intake would help?

Vaping is pretty good for getting off the smokes. Weed isn't a good idea really.

16-22mg for me. I found I need higher levels to get the same 'drag' feeling. It's a bit of experimentation at the start either way if you're new.

Cheers guys, I'm going to look into the vapes as It seems to have worked for some.

Not sure why hadn't considered them in the first place.

    Thanks

OP... I'd recommend cold turkey. Just decide to cut it out, exercise, deal with the cravings (mints are useful) and move on. It's really ****ing difficult... but it's usually the best way. If you're quitting with someone else, the support can be really useful, just make sure its with someone that really is committed to quitting.

Lastly, hypnosis is a really good method if you haven't used it before. However, if you've used it before and went back smoking after, then it's pretty useless.

Smoking just grass (no tobacco) cuts out the nicotine for the most part. The real issue is the connection with smoke. The taste of smoke. Non-smokers don't tend to understand that a big part of cravings is the usually horrible aftertaste with smoking, and yet, it's that aftertaste that has people heading to the shops.

If you’re going to replace a tobacco habit with pure grass then your ability to function will be severely diminished.

I've often gone weeks without and whilst found it very difficult, I was able to manage.

The problem I find is when there is a night out or party and thats when I come unstuck, when having a beer I just cant cope and I'm back to square one.

I do agree with you on the nicotine, I think its more of a taste thing with myself and i just really enjoy smoking and that kind of gives a wee bit of hope with the vapes.
