    Hi all

Just wondering has anyone owned one of these cars and get an opinion on them, it's a 2014 A4 technik 177bhp model, I'm thinking of upgrading my 09 a4 to one of them. Or is it worth waiting on an A5 instead, maybe 2012 year. Trying to decide which one to upgrade to.

    Cheers

Personally, in recent years I've kind of gone off the A4, A5 S-line is what I'd be after! What's your budget?

It's pretty much the same car as what you have now except for a mild facelift, a bit more power and spec. Technik is a UK spec afaik.

Yea car I'm looking at is a 2014, priced at 17,000, but hard to get a good deal, my car has only 85,000 miles but dealer isn't offering much against the newer car:(

Double check the value of your own, there’s a serious amount of much cheaper 08/09 A4s out there. I know they’re not all equal but you may need to realign your expectations particularly if you’re trading in.

Yea but hard to find an 08-09 with 85,000 miles and full Audi service history, I was expecting a more competitive trade in deal :(

Low mileage and service history make the car easier to sell but it's still a 9 year old A4 and your competing against cheap UK imports. Also if a dealer is asking 17k for a 2014 one, then they are hardly going to pay more money for one that is 5 years older and then have to stick a warranty on it. You cannot expect it both ways.

True, I've seen ones like mine with low miles online for 8-9000 some even dearer, but dealer wants around 12 cash along with mine for the 14 car. Would be better selling mine privately I guess.

What people ask for their's and what they actually sell for can be too different things but yeah if you can sell yours privately for the same or more than the dealer is offering you then do it. But I'd imagine 12k to come up 5 years is about right from a dealer.

Is 84,000 high mileage for a 2014? Or is that average? Same mileage as car I'd be trading in, but as you say, moving up 5 years

It's about average for a 4 year old diesel car.
