Higher salary for non-permanent job

If I get offered a job that is a 12 month contract and I can start the role in 1 to 2 weeks, I think this puts me in a good salary negotiating position. What would be the norm; would fixed term jobs normally get 10% more over an equivalent job that is permanent?

It entirely depends on the market situation. I have seen cases where the rate was 25+% and in other cases where temporary work paid less that permanent.
