    Hiya,

Anyone use a writing tablet in the classroom instead of the board. As a Maths teacher I can potentially see huge advantages.

If so, any recommendations for one?

I've been using an ipad pro in the classroom now for over a year and it's absolutely brilliant. I connect it via Apple tv so that I can wander around the classroom with it. I use an app called Explain Everything that allows you to just write onto the tablet and throw it up on the screen as I'm talking though the maths. Whatever I have written can be saved and is then sent to the kids through Google Classroom. You can also make videos of the concepts and put them on Youtube etc. For Maths it's fab, lots of Apps such as GeoGebra that you can use and switch between as well.

Yeah, I didn't really want to spend €600. There are some on amazon for £50/£60 and even cheaper. Anyone using these?

I don't know if this is the same thing but was covering class for a Technical Graphics teacher and he was using some kind of gadget with a light which reflected the image up on the screen - I don't know what it's called to search for it but maybe this would be a cheaper solution??? I know I would like to use something like this. I remember years ago - Aldi had a 'softpad' which you could take notes from and connect it to the PC.

Maybe some cheap miracast dongle and regular android tablet (a good one is still miles cheaper than iPad)

It's called a visualizer and it is a very hang piece of kit. I worked in a school previously that used surface pros for the teaching of maths with all ckasswork available on OneNote, another great job for the kids.....why do you want to go digital by the way? What are you hoping to do differently?

A visualiser wouldn’t let you wander around the room. You’d be confined to the desk.

Does the op want to move around the room?, not much of an advantage in my experience!

I wouldn't want to be moving :) Silly question - do you write on regular paper and its reflected onto board?

Thanks for that! Yeah that's a good idea. Not thinking about going digital just giving OP ideas. I remember a few years back was working in a school where 'my' board was interactive - I could save all classwork and put back up if needed. I use Word for my writing now :)

It would an advantage to put your work straight up on Google classroom etc
