    Hi all

Sorry for gross post but.... My 6 month old dog eats other dogs poop! Not his own, just others! Everytime we out walking he will get some and can't get it out his mouth. I read it could be nutrition deficiency. He is on Royal canine puppy food mixed with a small amount of wet food of nature's menu.

Any suggestions of what can add to diet to stop this if it is a deficiency or any tips to share of ur dog does this

My puppy has eaten her own poo since we got her, she's now 8 months. I don't think it's anything to do with a lack of food, it just seems to be a thing that puppies/dogs do.

Someone did recommend putting natural yoghurt into their food, not sure if this works or not

My in laws golden retriever did and would still if she could. As it was only her own she’d eat the vet ruled out other dogs where being fed foods she wanted so he thinks it was an anxious tic of some sort. In laws put tobasco sauce on it so she would back away from them & then she’d stand & stare at you until it was cleaned up.

Fast forward a few years and she’s still off the poo except in extreme circumstances as in high stress times.
