I got a 6 CCTV camera system installed over a year ago.All cameras working ok.2 of the cameras are for use in the calving shed. The pictures from the cameras can be viewed on my mobile phone while it is connected to the home WiFi.At the time of the installation our internet speed wasn't good enough for viewing of the pictures on my phone while away from home. I have since got our internet upgraded to about 14 megabytes per second. The upload speed is about 3.5 megabytes per second.Any one know how to set up the phone to view the pictures remotely. I have the Guardian App on my phone.

What makes or system of cameras have you? If you go into set up on your camera box can you pull up a QR code ? I have XMEye app on my phone. I just bring up the qr code on the tv and scan with the app on my pone and it automatically brings up my cameras.

As far as I know you need to start by asking your broadband supplier to allocate you a fixed IP address, some charge for this.
After that it depends on the system.

what way are the cams connected to the internet ? without knowing your set up it's very hard to help,

is your present IP supplier the same as the last , you may need to configure the security settings on your router

I presume you know the port numbers of the cams, check to see if they are open on canyouseeme.org website

If the ports are'nt visiable , then they are either been blocked by your router or by your internet provider

your installer should be able to sort it very easily . I'm actually surprised he didnt originally set you up, even though you had poor speeds

I have worked cams on speeds as low as 300b/s , ok if any thing else logged on they would freeze

The cameras are connected to the recorder box through individual cables. Recorder box is connected to the WiFi box through a separate cable. Cat 5 cable maybe..The ip address is the same as before from the same provider. The installer told me that the upload speed was too slow at the time....only a half a megabyte. As I said before I can view the pictures on my phone when it is logged onto the WiFi but not when I am away from it.

check your ports like I mentioned above, if the ports are not showing on canyouseeme.org you will not be able to access the cams remotely

I've a feeling that your system is set up for LAN only

even if you didnt have a static ip ad you should be able to log on briefly

check your speed on http://www.speedtest.net/ note the ip ad. disconnect your router from power source and re connect & again log onto http://www.speedtest.net/ check is the ip ad. the same

sounds like your cameras are connected to a dvr or nvr which is on your home network, so basically you need to set up port forwrding or dynamic dns or P2p, depends on your system and your brandband, whether you a Fixed Ip etc, probably best get your installer back and let him do it for you

If there is a dvr go Google the model name/number and see if there is a specific mobile app for it.

It's definitely this. Nearly pulled my hair out before Christmas and calving starting and I had the same problem as you. When it works on your wifi but not away it's just a matter of ringing your internet provider and stating the above.

I finally got the pictures on my phone tonight after watching some you tube videos on the guardian expert app.You would want to watch the videos a few times to figure out the details required. I registered a new account on the cloud p2p option. Then entered the recorder details. A lot of hassle when you are new to this. But at least it works. The picture quality might not be as good... maybe it will look better in daylight.I would say that a good signal on your phone is vital for it to work properly. It is rather slow to load..
