I really hope someone can help me. I am trying to lodge a health expenses claim for last year, 2017. I have set up a MyAccount on revenue.ie.
I log in and go to the manage my taxes section.
I click on review my taxes for 2014-2017. I click on Form 12 for 2017. Immediately a pop up box appears telling me I paid tax for this year and so the form is not available!!!! Yet the status box earlier tells me it is.
I apologise if this message is confusing but I'm at my wits end.

What does the popup box say exactly?

It might be worth your while calling the Revenue Online Services (ROS) Helpdesk on 1890 20 11 06 or 01 702 3021.

Or download and print a Med 1 form and just post it to revenue, along with the receipts.

    Hi viccadd,

The box says "Income Tax Registered. We cannot process your request as you were registered for Income Tax during 2017."

    Concerning?

    Yeah Everything Good,

I'm beginning to feel that I'm going to have to go old school.

Yeah, I'm going to try calling today Squatter but I believe the Revenue are notorious for not answering their phones. I can feel my blood pressure rising already!!

That means you were registered for Income Tax for 2017 so wouldn't be able to use myAccount for that year as myAccount is for PAYE workers.

Did you try to register yourself via ROS first by mistake or were you previously self employed and filing Form 11s?

I actually got onto the today Bubbaclaus. Because my husband is self employed and we are joint;y assessed, health expenses must go through his returns. Feeling like an awful eejit here now. Thanks for your time.

You almost always will. Revenue are normally pretty good at answering their phones - it's Social Welfare that are the seriously problematic department when it comes to answering phones. Between the long recorded announcements, (including the nonsensical Irish language bit) even a brief call to them can cost an arm and a leg - and this is really unfair because most of their callers tend to be people on low incomes.

    http://www.saynoto1890.com/a-z-listing/

try this - it lists loads of landline phone numbers instead of 1890 numbers. Far easier & cheaper for the heaps of people who have free landline calls on their phone packages now

And every single Revenue line listed will ask you what your query relates to, and redirect you to call the 1890 line. None of the numbers listed service general queries
