First thing I wud be doing is a history check before even viewing they are good cars especially the 2 litre reliable engine but one of the most clocked cars a lot of them tend to lose thousands of miles on the ferry across the irish sea a neighbour has one and looked at around 23 of them and nearly all of them had been clocked dealers and private sales

Any noises from flywheel clutch electrics been serviced on time they can do serious mileage that car is 5 years old now so its due a new belt water pump if it hasn't been done

The timing belt is die on those at 210k, they took away the 5 year rule but whether you trust that or not is up to you.

Heavy clutch pedals seem to be prolific in any of them over 100k kms. Both the 1.6 and 2.0 in a 2013 Passat are effected by the emissions situation, which could be considered a good thing or a bad thing.

They are an ok car, suspension is a bit soft, they are fond of wishbone bushes and shocks. Keys can give trouble too.
