hi folks, mate of mine just bought a new fiesta 181 reg,got a 7 year warranty or 100k,which comes first, like me he only does about 10k a year,so exactly what does a warranty cover?say if the clutch went before the warranty was up,or ball joints, etc, would he have to pay for repairs?im just curious,as things can happen a car within 7 years or 100k,thanks

It won't cover "wear" items such as tyres, brakes, clutch, suspension etc.

It will cover failure of items though such as engine, gearbox, back axle, electronics, electrics and many other items too.

p.s. Your mate should read the documentation. Should be in the glovebox.

Clutches are not usually covered under warranty unless it is proven that a component of the clutch was found to be defective. Clutches are deemed wear and tear items as would suspension parts.

Did your friend not get warranty documentation with the car? A brand new car is usually supplied from the dealer with all the documentation including warranty details.
