Budget is about €200/€350 each between flights and accommodation.

Spending money - no more than €80-€100 per day, preferably less.

Trying not to spend much overall as will be looking to book a sun holiday late August.

We enjoy tasting different foods and visiting interesting museums, sight seeing ect..

Can stretch on spending for highly recommended cities.

Was in Krakow before together and loved it and how cheap it was.

Was thinking: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin ect..

Love a good bargain and historical cities with a story :)

    Thanks.

All great cities but as budget is kinda tight I'd be inclined to say Prague.

Alternatively I'd highly recommend Budapest as I've been there and know it's an inexpensive city & appealed to me more than Prague did.

Tickes all the boxes with regard to the history & historic elements. Public transport is cheap & among the best I've experienced anywhere.

Amsterdam & Berlin are both great and I have been to both more than once. Just not sure either fit your budget.

Maybe look at Madrid or Lisbon...I found both to be cheap. Prague would be another one that is cheap(er than Amsterdam etc)

I’d second Budapest. On your budget it ticks all the boxes and is a great city, definitely one I’ll be back to.

Madrid is another great city, but dearer than Budapest.

Would also recommend Munich, nice city, good food, a lot of history to it, but hotels are a bit dear.

Another vote for Budapest! Fantastic city with lots to see and do whilst also being quite kind on the wallet.

Went to prague last christmas. Christmas market was great, really beautiful city, oldtown, it was like my 6th time there, but my last time before that was maybe 15 years ago.
The famous Charles bridge was WAY overcrouded though during the day.
Was thinking about amsterdam as the next city break.

Hotels can be dear in Munich during events like a trade fair or christmas markets and especially in the city centre but if you're flexible on location then you can stay a little out of the centre but on a ubahn line and youre into town in 10 minutes and can make a massive saving on accomodation.
Unlike other touristy cities, Munich is actually often cheaper during the holiday time as theres no business travellers filling the hotels.

If you were to do the weekend of June 15th you can get return flights from Dublin for €80 with Aer Lingus, Hotel like LetoMotel München City Ost a stones throw from an underground for €71 per night. So for a couple thats 2 nights and 2 return flights for €302 between ye.

As for spending money, between 2 you'll spend about €100 for food drink and whatnot, but in the end what you spend depends on what you do.
Touristy places downtown can be fairly expensive (schnitzel €20, pint for a fiver) but its no problem either to get a schnitzel for half the price and a pint for €3.50 if you stay out of the touristy places right in the middle of the city.
Similarily, if you buy a bottle of water from a kiosk or kebab place its €3 for a half litre, or go to aldi/ lidl and get 1 1/2L for just 19c.
You can bring your own food to the beergardens, so again grab some fresh rolls and ham in a shop for €2 or instead spend €15/ €20 between a couple on random beergarden snacks.

    Highly recommend Munich too.
Been there the last 2 June Bank Holidays.
Great city. Good food. Unreal beer gardens.
    Easy to walk around.
And the weather can be savage in June.

yea, I always laugh to myself when reading the struggles here on the travel forum this time of year with people killing themselves with planning expensive spins to Spain at peak summer time in order to escape the wind and drizzle, when theres actually great weather in the likes of Munich, Vienna and all points east which have a continental climate and often really long summery spells

Recently been to Lisbon very nice hilly for people with walk difficulties. I would recommend Seville beautiful city. I would def go back to Lisbon for short break v cheap relaxed and easy going. Look at air bnb for accommodation very reasonable.

Bordeaux is my "secret" summer getaway location......beautiful weather, reasonable and never overrun with tourists.
So OP, I would recommend Bordeaux.

We've holidayed in Gdynia in May & September. Fantastic weather and your money goes further.

OP - have a look at Gdansk. Pretty city and then hop on train - thirty minutes later you have the beaches of Gdynia and Sopot.
