So ive a 2015 passat. This evening when I started the car it said I have an airbag fault. After driving for a while I discovered no buttons on the steering wheel are working. Just guessing would it be a fuse problem or is it something bigger? Is it a home fix or a garage. Thanks.

I think this is a common fault (clockspring)

Sounds like the clock spring alright. Probably not a DIY task IMO.

If your car was registered from May 2015 onwards, it's still covered by manufacturers warranty, unless it's a UK import.

The part is around €180 iirc and an hour's labour should do the job.

I must give the garage a ring in the morning. It's a 151 so it on the boarder line of the 3 years and it's just over the 90,000. Had a spin in the car just now still the same airbag error no buttons including the horn all not working. Thanks for the advise.

If the car is out of warranty but you have a full VW service history then it's worth asking about goodwill from them towards the cost.
