Gravit?

Back in the mists of time I was a reasonably competent Illustrator (Mac) user. I have now forgotten most of what I knew, but am trying to manipulate an EPS image without Illustrator.

I tried to open it in (new) Inkscape, but it apparently needs an additional program (Ghost something) and the installation of it looks a bit beyond me!

Is anyone familiar with Gravit? It used to be Gravit.io but is now called designer. Is it any way similar to Illustrator to use, and will it really open EPS files?

I know I could just download it and try it, but would appreciate any opinions before I start fighting with it!

Can't help other than to say I've not managed to switch from an ancient copy of photoshop to gimp no matter how hard I try.

I'm curious how you get on though as I'd like to relearn vector based graphics.

I'll download it and give it a go, but I had been messing for ages, trying to dredge up stuff from the back of my head and being also somewhat confused by the fact that I am using Photoshop Elements which is excellent but here and there has unexpected bits missing from full photoshop. I will start again fresh and see what I can do.
