Driving lessons problem, lessons not being logged by instructor?

Ok guys, so I am a complete novice driver, and just had my second driving lesson with a recognised qualified driving instructor.

The only problem is, I was told by instructor, that for the first lesson, we would cover the basics, i.e; moving off and stopping, and then we would start the E.D.T. lessons.
That was the first lesson. I had my second lesson recently, and there has been no mention of the E.D.T. lessons, nor was I provided with a logbook to record the lessons, yet I am still being charged for the lesson.

Should I be worried? Does this sound like common practice?

My girlfriend had a similar problem did most of the lessons but the instructor never registered she did them.

She then switched instructor and had a hell of a time getting the old instructor to register them.

So don't pay for anymore until he registers them.

I think it's better to just confront this at the beginning of the next lesson. If you've had two lessons that haven't contributed to your EDT, I think it might be a bit Irish. There might be a reasonable explanation or a misunderstanding.
