I live in a cottage on a country lane and have 80 metres of frontage. I have ok view across a valley as a result I have tourist in rental cars using us as an idealist backdrop for a photo session. I know my limit is 4 feet or 1.2 m however can I be a bit cheeky and build this as shown in photo ? I can across this elevate wall 1.2 m on an elevated earth bank in county Meath ? I am in Wicklow. Anybody has experience of this ? Thanks

    Thank you water John
Basically I drove pass a cottage in Meath last week and they build an earth bank about 3 feet off ground level and then a 4 foot brick wall on top of the earth bank, a bit cheeky I thought but not breaking any law
Just thought if any boffin here has experience

Hi just apply for planning to build a higher wall

What you suggest above (berm with wall in top) is not planning compliant.

Please have a read of the forum charter
