Hi people new to here 🀗

so I have a 2014 citreon berlingo enterprise . Currently on 70 thousand miles so at the moment the timimg belt must be done that's 1 problem

    Problem number 2 .

it's very rattlely when taking off from a stop even a flat surface vibrates like crazy and yes I am giving it enough gas while taking off 🙄🀣🀣 it's kind of bucks right after changing gears no matter what gear and again im not letting the clutch put very fast for it to kick 🙄🙄😂

you can also just even notice how weak it feels when trying to pull away it's almost like something is holding it back if anyone understands what im talking about ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I asked a local mechanic he's guessing the fly wheel is rattling and the clutch may need to be done also he said the wile set up would more or less have to be replaced

so the big question is what price would I be looking at in order to have the timing belt done that's a must do at the milage it's on now I assume ? And a clutch and flywheel set up if need to be done I assume they may need to be done also it's causing crunch coming through the gear lever no crazy whining noise just horrible to get into gear really stiff.

And finally my last question 🀣🀣 the local garbage said I am better off trading it in as it will cost about €1500 on repairs .. so which came to my conclusion I looked around for vans and can't find any clean vans mine is very clean took a while to find it only clean van I seen was a 2011 transit van with 85 thousand miles on would I be crazy to do a straight swap for the transit if the dealer goes ahead with it or should I get the problems sorted . Sorry for boaring everyone but im a noob 😳😳😳

Also forgot the mention the dealer has the transit advertised for €8500 not sure what 2011 transit or going for

Get to an Indy get a price and do the maintenance.

No matter what you buy these are wear and tear items and will have to be changed either way especially the belt.

The clutch/dmf you could leave untill it's worse.

Do you think it's still worth it if its going to cost about €1500 as far as I know.. I know the belt must be done that's not a problem .. these vans are going for only 6000-6500 mechanic said I could be looking at new flywheel along with a clutch and timimg belt so I assume it's going to be €1500 if not more? Or am I wrong

Your van is worth what one is worth minus the cost of work needed so I wouldn’t just spend money on getting another van to sidestep that. You will pay for the work either way IMO.

So you think it's worth getting my own fixed ? Well I have No problem getting it fixed just once it's not alot of problems or something major like gearbox due to crunch gear change but the clutch does feel very weak fly wheel might also need to be done would a bad clutch/flywheel act up on the gears ? It was my own fault anyway for not getting it checked by mechanic before I bought it 🙄🙄🙄

Your clutch/dmf could be left for the moment unless it's shocking bad and you feel it will let you down.

    What's price on belt change??

These things go and nothing to say new van will be without any issue either.

Has it let you down and are you willing to take on another van which may have issues.

Only other way is buy new or leasesuch as hp.

Well the thing is you see I don't want to be forking out over €1000 in few months time if they do fail if i fecide to hang onto it ..

when I take off from a stop van rattles like mad I said it to the local mechanic he said without taking it for a spin that it's either clutch or flywheel or possibly both ..

As for the belt it's €450 I was quoted

It hasn't let me down but these problems makes me think it was screwed to death by previous owner there's only 70k on the clock it shouldn't be like that it was very nice to drive back 6 months ago when I got it

now it's horrible it does not drive like a 141 van drives like a 2005 van with 200k miles on the clock but im beginning to think it will let me down soon with all these issues and messges coming up on it like anti theft system faulty done a Google search and it's mention imobaliser is going faulty 😮😮

And as of the gear crunch and sometimes it actually feels like it hits a brick wall and refuse to go into gear for like 1 1 or 2 seconds then it nudges it's way in that don't really seem good to me almost seems like the synchros are chipped or bent or something and can't engage gear properly im not a mechanic bit that's what I think ..

Im just going to book it in for a big check up and wait for the bad news 😥😥

Hi all sorry for bumping a old thread but I brought the van to a mechanic and he told me everything I listed was ok he said clutch is weak but will last and timing belt he said it's 200km so that's out of the way as of the gear change he says the cables are streched would the cables stretch with only 70k miles on it or could he be wrong ?
