    I’m looking at a 2011 Toyota RAV4 2.2 diesel at the moment.
It’s the 2 wheel drive variant.

What are these like reliability wise as I’ve heard the 2.2 gives head gasket trouble ?
I need something to use as a family car that can also pull a trailer when needed.
Also , does anyone have one of these who has a baby ?, if so, do you find the boot big enough ?

Insurance seems to be high on these as my insurance would go up by €250, which I think is mad.
    I’d be upgrading from a 2009 d4d Corolla

    Opinions welcome on the RAV4

To be fair if you’re going from a 1.4 to a 2.2, so you’re bound to have some change in insurance. Some cars are unnaturally cheap to insure.

Ref reliability, I dint think the 135bhp/150 version is as prone to issues as the 180 as also fitted to the Lexus IS.

2011 would be the facelift of the 2006 model, so boot space is pretty good as spare wheel is on back door. The rear parcel shelf is a bit flimsy IIRC due to the reclining rear seats

Missus has the petrol one. Bombproof and way nicer/refined than the diesel one. 8l/100km. In 5 years 90k km no costs except oil and tyres. Have a baby and boot is huge.
