All she has to do is cook, clean and pop out a few kids. I have to work my hole off and drive myself to an early grave. She'll live 20 yrs longer living it up on a fat pension i earned.

Poll should have been constructed as four options (or more??) - 'I am ____ and say that the ____ gender has it easier'

I say same same but different.

    it has to be woman
in general their jobs are less physical and less stressfull(due to be in less managerial jobs)
jobs are mostly inside compared to a lot of male jobs outside

less pressure to provide for the family socially

    Men tend to die younger

Men tend to get more cancer

But how can you live with no sense of humour or comedic timing?

Both have their challenges but I believe its that bit tougher for men (call me biased). In the dating scene, men have to do the approaching to women.

The suicide rate is also alot higher amongst men.

Thats not to say women haven't their challenges especially with the whole issue of body image and the social media bullshít. Men and women seem to deal with conflict in very different ways to each other too.

    Poll should include Gender Fluid/Mad as fook/Atari ~ I'm an SWJ & so you're a facist option.

Failing that, its probably easier to be a man (I'm a man, unless I choose to be a woman. I'm a national Judo champ, if I identify as a woman I might actually go on to be an Olympian).

Ok, its easier to be a man.

I wouldn't know til I've tried being both, tbh.

Why the constant need to pit one gender against the other?

Both genders go through difficult situations - one does not have it easier than the other. It all comes down to the individual and how he or she deals with the situation.

Just because we women go through pregnancy and childbirth does mean we have tougher lives than men.

When you consider how tough it must be to keep up with the Kardashians, men surely have it easier.

Plus think about all the chore sex !:pac:

Men, definitely.* I've yet to meet** a woman who doesn't torture herself with self-doubt and overthinking the fúck out of the planet.

    * This being After Hours where at least 7 out of every 10 men are victims of the the evil Feminist movement and their conspiracy, this is equally definitely the wrong answer here.

** I've never met Maggie Thatcher or Mary Harney.

    Men definitely have it easier.

The amount of waxing, makeup and gaffer tap I need to pass as a woman is just too much.

Have you ever noticed that a woman's problems somehow become a man's problems too?

men generally are very i have a problem lets find a solution types.
women are generllly more i have a problem , lets talk about it. a problem shared is a problem halved, the solution isnt a priority

Do women do this for men or for other women?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,537 ✭✭✭KKkitty

Neither do. Men can't win no matter what. They want equality and women will slate them saying that of course you'll want that because you've had the life of luxury for decades and are just saying it because you think it's what us women want to hear. Women don't have the right to choose what happens with their own bodies. We have to be deemed as maternal even if we're not. I've had babies but not all women want babies so feck off telling us about our biological clock ticking away. Men's mental health issues are a joke. Men don't feel emotions, no not at all. A man crying is supposed to be a sign of weakness. Feck off would you. No wonder men have felt emasculated by the way society treats them. Simply put both men and women have their own battles and are treated like pieces of crap on the appropriate person's shoe.

Some people have it easier than others is about the crux of it. Some of my female friends deserve medals for the crap they have to put up with on a daily basis. And I've seen men friends of mine driven to the edge by the complexities and problems they have to face in their lives.

Women are able to vocalise their issues and seek comfort by talking to others. Men are better at compartmentalising , they seem to be better at taking time out from their problems. Be it a drink with the lads or a round of golf.

Nobody's really winning. We're all just getting through the day as best we can.

This whole gender war feels very unhelpful. It seems so pronounced online compared to IRL. Can’t we all just get along? Neither men nor women are a hive mind. Some people have it tougher than others. I’d say class - the socioeconomic stratum that a person is born into - is a bigger predictor of how hard your life will be than gender. I do think that trans people have a pretty tough time of it with far higher rates of depression and suicide than the general population.
