It’s hard to get any verifiable news from the North (obviously) but I’ve seen it reported in a few places since it happened.

Regardless of whatever politics went on behind the scenes regarding China, USA etc this is absolutely incredible .
There's so much violence in the world today, at home and abroad and this shows that there's always a good solution to the problem.
Hopefully this will have a positive impact on the lives of the regular North Korean civilians too

As has been said already, talks similar to these have happened in the recent past and we still ended up the NK acting like loose cannons since then. Let's see what actual change this brings before we break out the acoustic guitars and Cat Steven's tunes.

On the other hand, the imagery is quite remarkable. I'd take this ten times out of ten over what we've seen in the last few years - Signs of an inevitable war in that region which could lead to a wider conflict.

Yes, these talks have happened in the past, but KJU wasn't the NK leader then. Maybe KJU genuinely wants to make peace, maybe his hand has been forced, maybe this is just a show to buy more time and good graces while he works away with his nuclear program in the background.

It remains to be seen. I do know that the sight of the man engaging in real life, and not seeing the usual stock photo or meme of him, is a little disconcerting. Looking at the smile on his face, the pleasantries and how he comes across as normal, all the while he has tens of thousands of his own people suffering in prison camps. That just makes me shiver a bit.

Once the SK PM walked over to the NK side, I was half waiting for KJU pull a ray gun on him, abduct him and escape on a rope ladder attached to a huge airship. Chuckling with a cigar clenched between his teeth.
