New car help

Hi, looking for advice on a couple of cars.
We are buying new given the scrappage deals we are getting on our own car which is worthless. Have narrowed it down to pulsar, i30 or Leon which are all costing similar.
Or going slightly higher for a focus titanium. They are doing a great deal as the new one is due in September.
Any advice would be great as I'm not really a car person at all. Looking to keep it for a good while so reliability would be important. Only do 10-15000km a year so would be petrol versions of each car. Thanks again for any help

Pulsar has been discontinued in Europe afaik so your buying left over dealer stock, nothing really stands out with them either. Current Focus is an old design at this stage and you would really want to be getting a super deal on it to consider it. The i30 will have the best warranty but the Skoda Octavia is worth a look at too.

Unless you really need the couple of extra bits the Titanium Focus has over the ST-Line, the ST-Line Focus is by far the cheapest car in its segment as far as total cost of ownership, based on the figures I've run recently.

We ended up getting a better discount on the titanium to bring it down same as st line. About 6500 as a scrappage/discount which is the only reason it is an option. Otherwise it would be out of our price range. I presume we won't get that if we wait until the knew one comes out so this is probably the only way a focus can be an option for us. Works out about 1500 more than the other options I mentioned.

You won't get a big discount off a newly launched model as they don't need to work as hard to sell them.

Thanks everyone. Happy to rule out pulsar so.
We are planning on keeping it for at least 5-6 years so all cars would be older model by then too.

What about the Kia C'eed, the GT line is a lovely looking car and from reviews appears well built and trouble free so far.

Pulsar is being discontinued very soon and wasn’t even a desirable car when it was launched. In its favour it has decent standard engines. The Ceed is being replaced soon too.
The i30 is probably the best all rounder there.

We have gone that way ourselves. Test driving i30 and focus again this weekend then pick from them. Thanks everyone for your help

Didn't realise Hyundai was doing scrappage on the new i30.

Jesus the pulsar can't be out that long and it's being dropped already

If your in a Nissan dealer

Drive the new 150bhp Nissan Leaf and then drive the Pulsar :)

Leaf is a little rocket in comparison

We were told it would be back 1st of July and they were willing to start the ball rolling now giving us the scrappage.

What sort of deal have they going?

They said 3500 was scrappage I would have got in January. Offered 3000 for July as he said usually a drop off from Jan offer to July one.

It’s only being dropped cos nobody wants them.

They’re building the N.V. electric van/car yoke in the factory in Spain instead.
