I'm currently in a career changing move, moving away from self employment status and beginning work in the teaching sector, however to begin jobs arent a given and work will be on a subbing basis,
can anyone enlighten me as to how I will be effected? is there a transition period where i'm not entitled to whatever benefits are in place for people who are part time employed etc
what paper work do i have to do to show I am no longer earning in a self employed role?

I couldn't find any clear information online.
    Thank you.

You should tell the Revenue that your self-employed trade has finished as soon as possible so they can get your tax affairs in order.

To start the ball rolling, fill out a Tax Registration Cancellation Notification (TRCN1) and return it to your local tax office. You will also need to complete a tax return for the tax year in which your trade stopped.

If you were using a business name you must also inform the Companies Registration Office (CRO) that you have ceased trading using Form RBN3.

As for Social Welfare benefits/allowances, have a read of this:

There is also the cessation calculations (and recalculations) that need to be performed. Also need to look at loss claims before deregistration. Are accounts all in order?
