Locked out of phone

I have a Huawei phone and I stupidly reset my pin and in an instant I got distracted and now I cant access my phone at all as I cant remember my pin. This happened on Tuesday. Ive been to a Vodafone shop and also to a phone repair shop. The Vodafone shop cant help me. The repair shop can but it will delete everything on my phone. Has anyone any suggestions as to how I may fix this problem without deleting everything on my phone please? For deeply sentimental reasons I'd like to keep everything on my phone.

Is it the SIM you can't access or the phone?

If it's the SIM then your provider should be able to give you the PUK code to unlock it.

If it's a code for access to the phone and it's four digits then you may have to try each of these*:

    * Assuming you can try multiple times and not get locked out.

If you have a google account active on the device?

You can use Device Manager to reset your lockscreen password.

    https://www.google.com/android/find?hl=en-GB

^^^ Choose the LOCK Option and enter a new passcode for your phone.

If it is your sim pin ask your network to reset it.

Thanks for the help. Its the actual four digit code so im locked out. I can try three codes every hour! Im usless with technology. Ive followed the google link. Can barely remember setting up a Google account when downloading apps. So i just signed into it and google said they would be in touch in a few days as it looked suspicious! Im desperate not to loose the info on my phone so ill try anything

I think if you registered for a Huawei account, there's a way to reset your pin remotely by logging into your account on a pc.

I know it's not much use to you now, but in this day and age, nobody should get caught with sentimental stuff on their phone with no backup. Any photos/messages/whatever should be regularly backed up to the cloud.

Is there an SD card in the phone? Maybe if you take it out and view the contents on a laptop/pc it will have the files you dont want to lose (photos etc.). Copy them off then reset the phone.

Thanks. I dont have a huawei account. Ive an sd card and have got the stuff from that onto my laptop with help! A family picture from Easter Sunday is on the phone. I back up my pictures up at the end of every month. A member of my family has passsed away since Easter Sunday and its that picture I want more than anything as its only on my phone and not on my sd card. I was upset when about the death when I reset the pin and thats how I made the mistake in the first place. Im so annoyed with myself. Im hoping Google will come back to me with my pasword.

Did you log in as corkie said? Shouldn't need to wait for anything. Just log in and reset your password/pin

When you say you forgot your password for Google, they should text you a code to reset it.

Thanks so much for help. So I got them to text me a password as I got a sim converter to put my sim in a different phone. Last night when trying I couldnt d tat as I couldnt get message. So Ive got in as far as the change lock page. It says enable lock and erase. When i click on it it trys to find my phone and it cant. Im guessing this is as loaction information isnt turned on which i cant do without my pin. This happened when my sim was in and out of the phone. Any suggestions from here please?

That page is specific to your account, we can not see what it is on it.

    Take a screenshot.

Any chance you previously unlocked bootloader, rooted and installed TWRP on your device?

Apologies. I haven't a clue how to post a screenshot or even a photo. I don't think I unlocked boot loader, rooted and installed TRWP. I don't actually know what that means and I've had no problems with the phone till now.

Where are you based? Maybe someone here lives nearby and can help. Lock and erase doesn't sound right either. If you were to execute that I would imagine it would wipe the phone.

I brought it into my local Vodafone shop who reset it. I had been told I'd loose everything which is what panicked me. Every single was still there including contacts, calendar and photos. I was very happy.
Thank you all for your help
