1tb HD OTG

So I recently purchased a small USB hub and an OTG cable for use with my S7. Once up and running, I can plug a dongle with an SD card from my camera into the hub and my phone reads it fine. But it just won't see my 1tb HD (even thought it's been formatted correctly). I tried the exact same setup with a mate's S3 and it works fine, so there's nothing wrong with the hub or the hard drive, it appears to be an compatibility just issue between my phone and this drive (as the phone CAN read the sd card)

I'm thinking when I was first messing around with the connection, I clicked on something or chose an option when it popped up and now the device isn't being recognised, but I've no idea what or how to fix it.

I've tried the regular My Files, ES File and Astro. My mate just has it working on std My Files. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a lack of power from the OTG port. Is the HDD or the hub powered?

The HD needs power, but I've got that working ok on my friend's phone. The hub is unpowered.
