Do men in Ireland know that women are suffering?

I just read a Facebook post that my female friend wrote :talking about her rape, abortion , feeling hopeless, not being respected at all in Ireland.
She described Ireland as 'a broken system that works only for men'.

I have left Ireland, and I said back to her, "I need the second half of my life to recover from the first half".

Do men in Ireland know that women are suffering this badly?
And if so, why is it being let continue?

Mod: There's already a big thread on the 8th/abortion here. We don;t need another one.
