Heat Pump Making Noise

We have a Danfoss Heatpump which has started making a loud dripping noise at times. Best way to describe it is that it sounds like popcorn popping. There are no errors appearing on the unit & no obvious signs of a leak anywhere - anyone have any thoughts what it might be?
