Would anyone have any experience of the use of house reward systems in post primary schools? The kind of system where students are put into teams across the school and score points in categories like uniform, behaviour and homework. If so has it been a worthwhile venture?

Think some of the private secondary schools use it. Kinda like a Harry Potter house system. Unsure of the success of it. Lot of schools use a 'merit' system of point rewards for behaviour, achievements, uniform, etc. Highest achievers get ipads, laptops, etc.

It can be useful if the pupils buy into it. There would need to be some sort of reward system to help them buy into it more. Having regular competions that could have the different houses compete would also help, as well as in sports.
