    1. When am I getting my refund cheque?

    If you have not received your refund cheque please submit the following details and we shall be happy to investigate further for you.
    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Account Number; and
    -WPRN.

    2. How can I report a strange taste or smell in my water?

    A change in the taste or smell in your tap water can be due to a number of reasons, which you can learn more about  here

    If you are concerned about water quality in your area, please contact Irish Water Operations on 1850 278 278. Our lines are open 24/7.

    Alternatively, you can contact us here on Boards or on Twitter @IWCare and we will be happy to help. We are available Monday to Friday, between 9am and 8pm.

    3. I am selling my house soon. Do I need to proof of payment of my Irish Water bills?

    Prior to the passing of the Water Services Bill in November 2017 if you sold your home, you were obliged to ensure that all household water charges were paid. Irish Water then issued a Certificate of Discharge to you so the sale could be completed.

    The Water Services Bill 2017 removes the requirement to have paid household water charges to Irish Water and provide evidence of same before selling a home.

    If you have such a payment previously this will be refunded to you in full, regardless of the date of payment.

    Please contact your solicitor or representative or contact us on 1850 448 448 if you any queries or concerns.

    4. Is our water drinkable?

    You can find a list of water sample results for your area, with a breakdown of the parameters we test for here.

    Often, after works have occurred, supply can appear discoloured or cloudy. We recommend not consuming this water until it clears and, if possible, to run the cold tap for approximately ten minutes in order to resolve the discolouration.

    You can find more on supply discolouration here.

    5. I’m selling my house, do I need to ring Irish Water to close my account?

    We would advise you to call 1850 448 448 to close your account and update your details.
    These lines are open Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm
