Do they follow you around constantly asking you or do they go away when you tell them no?

I have never seen this at Tesco.

Unless you mean the Eco wash lads who, you know, stay in their tent and dont harrass anyone?

They always go away from me when I offer them an extra €10 to wash my genitals.

Pester how? I only ever see them either washing cars or standing by their wash buggies. I do be in about 3 Tescos that have them and have never been approached nor saw them approaching anyone.

    Which Tesco do you use?

    There's your problem, OP.

My car is so mucky that any prospective cleaner would run in horror at the prospect of having to tackle it. :o

I've seen a similar scam in Tesco Dundrum.
There are a group of 3 or 4 young women wearing hot pants and low cut tops, and they start washing your car without asking and charging you €50.
I got caught out 3 times at the weekend, 4 times yesterday but didn't see them today...

Tesco in Drogheda has the same crew, I just park in the furthest corner of the carpark from them as they're too lazy to chase that far

Jesus I know, was there the other day (Clearwater)

He said (spotting the dirt on my car): do you want your car washed?
    I said: no thanks

Needless to say I'm traumatised about the whole thing, may need counselling.

I usually give them a jolly good thrashing with my cane

They are really persistent in Tesco Clarehall, I don't mind being asked but they don't take no for an answer and ask repeatedly. It's a pain. I just ignore them.

they wash your car an you get a clean car for ten euro, I have it done regularly and they're as effective as a car wash, what's the problem? they don't pester you at all and looking at some of them you can see they've come from hard times.

something that pisses me off more is the endless swathes of layabouts who stand at the til collecting for spurious disease research, disco dancing, non local football teams.... If fairview need new kits, go beg in fairview for them.... it's dunnes and tesco now, sure one teacher asked me to put money in the basket for a kids school trip to Poland? where she was going too??? WTF do they not get money from the government and sure if not, why doesn't each kids mother or father poney up? like my folks so I could go to clara lara in the 80's for the day!!

I didn't run round the local H williams or quinnsworth (yes showing my age now) asking for hand outs....

I've had them wash my car there a couple of times, although that was about a year ago. They done a good job, car was ready after shopping.

I never had to say no to them more than once if I didn't want the car washed.

I'd be more irritated with the chuggers packing bags at the checkouts.

    Harmless enough hopefully.
As long as they don't engage in the tactics of the "lock hards" from years back when told that their services weren't required, I don't really see a problem.
