Looking for suggestions for a European City Break for Husband & I.
Not Paris, Rome, Prague, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Oslo, Athens, Luxembourg, Edinburgh, London, Venice, Florence or Brussels.

Somewhere with a Direct Flight from Dublin, nice Restaurants (Foodies), Museums and no need for car hire.

    Thanks in advance.

For the romance factor I always suggest Bruges - it does involve flying into Brussels and getting a train for about 1.5 hours but is very pretty, picturesque and full of lovely things to eat and drink (think chocolate and Belgain beer plus nice restaurants). It's a medieval town, a Unesco World Heritage site and there are lots of old churches, little galleries and other buildings to visit and view if that's what you like to do.

Alternatively, Berlin always receives rave reviews for having such a variety of things to see and do, there are direct flights from Dublin and getting around is very easy by public transport.

Was going to suggest Gent for pretty much the same reasons. Gorgeous little city, stay in the Marriott right in the city centre in a lovely old building facade that has been completely modernized inside

    Sicily? Ryanair fly direct.

Skyscanner have an option to select your origin and then select 'Everywhere' if you don't know where you want to go

Munich, 6 flights each way per day from Dublin, so couldnt be handier to get to.

Theres museums and food in general is good and at a reasonable cost, and you can also spend unreasonable or insanely stupid sums of money either.

Theres an irish born , but Austrian raised chef who has a really good restaurant called Shanes restaurant along the lines of the michelin ones, but not quite as pretentious.
So 5 or 6 small courses with each one having a recommended wine choice. Costs a fair bit by the end, but quality is suberb.

Theres 10 or 12 restaurants with Michelin stars so if youre into that and the credit card can do the heavy lifting, its there for you too.

Yep, and you hop to Salzburg very easily also. Krakow is another great city to visit. Or Wroclaw.

Seriously considering Munich at the minute. Looking at some Airbnbs.

Another vote for Bordeaux from us. We stayed there a few years back, I don’t much like city’s but did enjoy it.

Munich is a fantastic city. There's lots to do no matter what your interests are. Some of the main attractions include Marienplatz (the main city square), the English Garden, Viktualienmarkt (market near Marienplatz), BMW Museum, Olympiapark, Munich Residence, Nymphenburg Palace. There's lots of art gallerys and churches as well. The beer halls and beer gardens are a great experience and the cafes over there are much better than here.

I highly recommend travelling to Salzburg for at least a day. The famous Neuschwanstein Castle is also another must-do day trip.
